I think the configure check is mostly harmless, but wouldn't be opposed removing it. It really seems to have been added explicitly for Solaris 9, which is probably really dead by now. Andrew Hughes, you added it back in 2008. Are you still using/building on any Solaris 9 setups? Cheers, Mark
