Tried building 4.7.1 on AIX 6.1 and 7.1 and get a similar error.

$ cd /opt/build/china
$ bzip2 -dc gcc-4.7.1.tar.bz2 | tar xf -
$ mkdir gcc-4.7.1-o
$ cd gcc-4.7.1-o
