I wrote an article for LWN about DomTerm, and it's now freely available:

There are some hopefully-interesting Kawa examples - see the screenshots.
The "polygon" example makes use of JFreeSVG (http://www.jfree.org/jfreesvg/).
You to configure Kawa to use it:
./configure --with-jfreesvg=/path/to/jfreesvg-3.0.jar
Otherwise it should just work.
I still don't have a mechanism for Kawa to automatically start up
a DomTerm window; instead you have to start kawa in an existing
DomTerm terminal window. See http://domterm.org/Applications.html
I have lot of ideas for DomTerm and Kawa (of course), but we'll
see what happens when.
