--- Comment #1 from dodji at redhat dot com ---
This should be addressed by commit
https://sourceware.org/git/gitweb.cgi?p=libabigail.git;a=commit;h=b36ca1501e061074652122612ccce8a031b2f2d7
in the master branch of the Git repository.
The functionality should be available in 1.0.rc5 version.

Bug ID: 20180
Summary: Support system-wide suppression specifications
Product: libabigail
Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: default
Assignee: dodji at redhat dot com
Reporter: dodji at redhat dot com
CC: libabigail at sourceware dot org
Target Milestone: ---
Abigail tools (abidiff, abipkgdiff and fedabipkgdiff at least) should read a
system-wide suppression specification file by default, and apply those
suppressions to the output of ABI comparison.
The file could be at $(pkglibdir)/default.abignore, just like the system-wide
Valgrind suppression file.
This system-wide suppression file would maintained upstream in the Abigail
project and would be installed when the libabigail package is installed.
In addition, there would also be a user-specific default ~/.abignore file where
users can specify whatever suppression rule they want.
Reading those files would be de-activated by either one of the two conditions
below:
1/ the user specifies a --no-default-suppression option to the Abigail tool
2/ the user specified a --suppr <suppresion-file> option the Abigail tool.
In that case, only the suppression file explicitly provided by the user would
be read by the tool.
