Are you going to propose different terms for the next revision of POSIX (the first draft of issue 8 was recently released for review, but it's still at an early stage of development, with major changes such as alignment with the current version of the C standard yet to come, so there should be time to include such a change)? People need to be able to match terminology used in GNU documentation with that used in external documentation. In the short term that means we need to state what the corresponding POSIX terminology is. In the longer term, it would clearly be desirable for POSIX and GNU to have the same new terminology for referring to pseudo-terminals, rather than for them to pick different terminology independently. -- Joseph S.
