I think it should removed if it does no harm.

Hi John,

This branch:

https://sourceware.org/git/?p=glibc.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/origin/release/2.25/master

isn't 2.25 branch. Are you sure about it?

origin/ibm/2.8/master is behind ibm/2.8/master.
I have already considered to remove it, but as it was there for so long, I
decided to leave it as is.

I'm not aware of anyone using it.

If necessary, I can remove it.

If you need any help, please don't hesitate to ask.

It's great to see Debian encouraging others to participate in the upstream
stable branches.

Correct :-( The Branch commit process is somewhat more complex than I
thought and eventually I consulted
the FAQ. I removed the new branch.

I want to fix hppa on 2.25 as Debian is going to 2.25 next. Aurelien
encouraged me to back port fixes.

There's also a branch origin/ibm/2.8/master which looks wrong on similar
grounds (I haven't checked when it was created or how it relates to
ibm/2.8/master). And a recently created, spurious branch
local_glibc-2.25.

It should be on the 2.25 (no comma) branch.

This bug was already fixed a month ago on stable.

I expect Dave is fixing it on stable 2.25 because Debian inherits from our upstream stable branches.

I think this is a mistake. Dave snuck in an extra 'origin' in the path by accident and
made a completely new branch.
