We have a <sys/endian.h> in RTEMS which is based on the FreeBSD 
<sys/endian.h>. It was slightly modified to also work on 16-bit targets. 
We definitely have to keep these interfaces for RTEMS otherwise libbsd 
for example will no longer work.
