Hi,

I maintain patchutils (http://cyberelk.net/tim/patchutils/), but only
make tarballs available. I'd like to make CVS available, and provide
a mailing list: I'm often asked about this possibility, and it seems
that quite a few people have ideas about how to make patchutils
better.

Would it be possible/advisable to host patchutils on
sources.redhat.com?

Sure. What do you need for mailing lists?

I think I only need one -- it shouldn't really be very high volume.
Bugs, new features, that sort of thing. 'patchutils-list', perhaps.

Ok. I'll do this once the dust settles on sourceware.

I've set up a cvs repository and three mailing lists: patchutils-list,
patchutils-cvs, and patchutils-webpages-cvs.

Things checked into /cvs/patchutils/htdocs show up at the web site
http://sourceware.org/patchutils/ and any checkins to htdocs will
be reflected in patchutils-webpages-cvs.

Checkins to /cvs/patchutils/patchutils, i.e.

cvs -d :ext:sourceware.org:/cvs/patchutils co patchutils

will be sent to patchutils-cvs.

I've also set up an ftp repository. Anything checked into /cvs/patchutils/ftp
will show up on ftp://sourceware.org/pub/patchutils .

You are the moderator for all of these lists, which means you can
do remote administration. The info for this is here:

http://ezmlm.org/faq-0.40/index.html

If you have any questions, please send them to overseers.

Have fun,
cgf

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting this to work:

[twaugh@gene /tmp/tim]$ whoami
twaugh
[twaugh@gene /tmp/tim]$ export CVS_RSH=ssh
[twaugh@gene /tmp/tim]$ cvs -d:ext:sourceware.org:/cvs/patchutils co patchutils
Permission denied (publickey,keyboard-interactive).
cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Tim.

Never mind, I figured this out. I needed to add lines to .ssh/config
to force Protocol 1.

Hi,

Messages sent to patchutils-cvs give links to the cvsweb page to view
them, as in this message:

 http://sources.redhat.com/ml/patchutils-cvs/2004-q3/msg00003.html

But the links are incorrect, and give messages like:

Error: patchutils/ChangeLog.diff: no such file or directory

The links in the above message are:

http://sources.redhat.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/patchutils/ChangeLog.diff?cvsroot=patchutils&r1=1.4&r2=1.5
http://sources.redhat.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/patchutils/src/filterdiff.c.diff?cvsroot=patchutils&r1=1.3&r2=1.4

Any idea what's up?

Thanks,
Tim.

Should be fixed now.
