It was not niced previously: USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND root 23061 0.0 0.3 31164 26808 pts/2 S+ May14 1:14 /usr/bin/python2.4 /usr/bin/hgpullsvn I also blocked IP address 62.245.186.163 from anonymous svn access since they seemed to be repeatedly hitting sourceware with svn requests. I don't know if this was just an honest mistake or if it was a sign of harvesting. The load average has dropped to 7.27 after taking those actions so possibly one of the two did something. cgf
