Subject: dwarfstd.org now hosted by sourceware
Date: Tue, 28 Mar 2023 00:25:24 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20230327222524.GA20220@gnu.wildebeest.org> (raw)

Hi,

dwarfstd.org, The DWARF Debugging Standard, are now hosted on
sourceware. This includes git.dwarfstd.org, wiki.dwarfstd.org and
lists.dwarfstd.org. Sourceware already hosted the old dwarf2 archives
https://sourceware.org/legacy-ml/dwarf2/

This was discussed on irc, but not properly discussed on this
mailinglist. Apologies for that. There was some urgency since the
previous provider somewhat abruptly stopped providing services. In the
end the transfer went very smoothly though.

sourceware server2 and server3 provide DNS setup in
/var/named/named.dwarfstd.org (There is also a dwarfstd.dev which we
believed we might have needed temporarily in case the transfer took
some time, but it wasn't really needed).

The websites are configured in
/etc/httpd/conf.d/sourceware-vhost-dwarfstd.conf (Again there is a
dwarfstd.dev that now simply redirects to dwarfstd.org)
The all have automatically renewingletsencrypt certificates
/etc/letsencrypt/renewal/dwarfstd.org.conf

Project files are under /sourceware/projects/dwarfstd-home/

To receive and send email for lists.dwarfstd.org
/etc/mailman/mm_cfg.py
/etc/postfix/main.cf
/etc/default/postsrsd
/etc/opendkim/KeyTable
/etc/opendkim/SigningTable
were updated (all in autosnapshot git of course)

wiki.dwarfstd.org was a mediawiki website, but has been converted to a
git backed markdown website using mod_markdown
https://git.dwarfstd.org/dwarf-wiki/

git.dwarfstd.org is a cgit and gitolite setup under the dwarfstd
account in /home/dwarfstd/ The DWARF executive committee members have
access to the gitolite-admin repository to add new members. The
dwarf-htdocs repository has a post-update hook to update the main
website (currently with static html files, but will be moved to a
script that translates markdown files to html as prototype on the
markdown branch). Maybe in the future this can use builder with
container builds to rebuild the website instead of using a git hook.

Cheers,

Mark
