While updating from the src repository I get this message:

cvs update: cannot write /cvs/src/src/gdb/CVS/fileattr: Permission denied

This does not seem to have any negative effect on cvs update.

Andreas.

Are you just doing a normal 'cvs update'? Are you updating a branch
or mainline?

Ian

FWIW, I've changed the ownership of this file (and every other file in
/cvs/src) to "anoncvs". With the changes to locking that were made a
while ago, I removed anoncvs from all of the cvs groups. I guess that
means that anoncvs can't update fileattr unless it actually owns the
file.

anoncvs has always had a problem with the 32 group limit. The file
locking change got rid of that for the most part with the exception of
our local fileattr change.
