Hello overseers@sourceware.org,

when attempting to subscribe to the libc mailing list
libc-alpha@sourceware.org with this email address, I get the following
error immediately after hitting the subscribe button on the web
interface:

  Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at root@localhost to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

In case this is not a known problem I thought you'd want to be notified.
A notice when the bug is fixed would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Martin

What is worse, the attempt (and there were not that many) seems to have
put me on some sort of black-list and whenever I try to access any
sourceware.org resources (such as GCC bugzilla) from my computer (coming
from 193.86.92.180) or any other machine in SUSE Prague office, I get
the same 500 Internal error message.

I sort of need to access GCC bugzilla bugs, can you please have a look
at what is going on?

Thank you very much,

Martin

The logs indicate the system found a suspicious number of mailing list
subscribe events in a small window of time, a protection we put in
place weeks ago due to a spam/ddos attack. I turned this off, because
we have another method in play against that attack.

Thank you very much for resolving it this quickly. I don't think I
attempted so many times to subscribe to trigger a spam-filter but
perhaps my browser was over-active. In any case I am happy to hear you
have a better way of dealing with the issue.

I can confirm I could subscribe to the list without any problem now.

Thanks again,

Martin
