The problem is that your environment path needs to be updated. I was using VC 2005 express and I had to run vcvars32.bat and setenv.cmd which set up my environment variables. The exact path is : C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\bin\vcvars32.bat and C:\Program Files\ Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\SetEnv.cmd Keep in mind that the change is not persistent, and you will have to run these everytime before you do a build. (unless ofcourse you know how to make the change persistent) Hope this works. -Varun. --- Meir Yanovich wrote: > Hello all > im trying to compile static pthread lib , im using > vc 6 and win2k > and when im run namke with : nmake clean > VC-static-debug > im getting this error : > ..\pthreads-w32-2-8-0-release\pthreads-w32-2-8-0-release>nmake > clean > VC-static-debug > Microsoft (R) Program Maintenance Utility Version > 7.00.8882 > Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1988-2000.
