I have downloaded the iso file from ftp.redhat.com and then I unzipped it using winrar using Windows 2000.And then,I have seen all these rpm files in my packages directory under the AS_2.1 directory which is totally different from yours.I haven't burned the CD from the ISO. Can you tell me if I can install the redhat db to my redhat advanced server without burning a CD,because I have no CD burner. If you don't have a cd burner, use the mount command: mount -t iso9660 -o ro,loop rhdb21_i386.iso /mp where /mp is some mount point (use the man mount for more information on mount). I clicked the install button and then a system dilogbox states that "checking for package dependence problems and file conflicts........"and after that the response "The following packages can't be selected due to missing dependences or conflicts: rhdb-admin rh-postgresql-python" is issued from the system.And then I chose the CUSTOM installation,I found that the checkbox before rhdb-admin and rh-postgresql-python is greyed. Try installing those by hand and resolve any dependencies that come up. Make sure you have tcl and tk installed. The postgresql-python package requires python and mx. Do an up2date on both those packages. I don't know whether other people have met the same problem as I ,I think the Rdhat DatabaseGroup should notice this problem and I don't know whether it is a bug. By the way,I don't know how to copy the charactors appeared on the terminal screen to a editor directly.I can only paste charactors to the terminal. Can you hep me out?
