This may be because you are running `configure' (attempting to
form a build tree) in the same directory as the source tree.
Please create a new empty directory to contain the object files/Makefiles,
and from there, run `/PATH-TO-SOURCE/configure'.

It may help also to use the binutils package from the CVS repository;
sid and binutils may be found at the same server.  If you use
`cvs co sid', you should get all related/needed packages.
