I just mentioned having Exceed for Win32 as part of my system configuration and that maybe it might be contributing to the window focus problem. As a test, I disabled Exceed and then did a grep. Same problem. Move the cursor out of a SN window, and all file activity stops. Move the cursor back in and SN starts processing files again. It is interesting to note that the SN window doesn't have to be selected to start processing files, just having the cursor is enough. Are you running SN on some remote system and displaying it on you Windows box with Exceed? You do know that there is a Windows native version of SN, right? If this is your configuration, I suggest that you try to remote display to a Linux or other Unix box and see if that fixes your problem. It might just be a problem with your Exceed server.
