From the symbol browser:
Select Menu File->Project Preferences
Choose the Project tab
In the Window area select Horizontal for the Split Windows item
Hit the Ok button
Open a new editor
Select Menu Windows->Add View->Editor
You should now have two editors side by side.
This can also be done with the Ctrl-F5 shortcut.
