Auto-discovered dependencies are fine when building on the system the package will be used on; but for distributions such as Gentoo or for cross-compilation, they only cause headaches if they are not configurable. By adding two simple ./configure options, the problem is solved. commit f5a118c010cd41db364338f0c1f2780cd317f116 Author: Diego Elio Pettenò <flameeyes@flameeyes.eu> Date: Thu Sep 1 14:58:33 2011 -0400 Configuration Inprovements for NSS and avahi. Checking for directories directly on the /usr disallows building against a locally-installed NSS or Avahi, and makes cross-compilation difficult. By using pkg-config, it's easy to override the results, which allow building against non-system libraries as well as properly identifying cross-compiled libraries. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Summary of changes: Makefile.am | 38 +- Makefile.in | 77 ++-- configure | 649 +++++++++++----------------- configure.ac | 86 ++--- doc/Makefile.in | 4 +- doc/SystemTap_Tapset_Reference/Makefile.in | 4 +- doc/beginners/Makefile.in | 4 +- grapher/Makefile.in | 4 +- runtime/staprun/aclocal.m4 | 4 +- testsuite/aclocal.m4 | 4 +- 10 files changed, 359 insertions(+), 515 deletions(-) hooks/post-receive -- systemtap: system-wide probe/trace tool
