I assume this is because the translator has no way of knowing what _struct_sockaddr_u() is doing. Is there some way the translator could detect that it is safe to optimize out or some way we could specify an attribute for embedded functions to indicate this? -- Summary: optimization imporvement Product: systemtap Version: unspecified Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P3 Component: translator AssignedTo: systemtap at sources dot redhat dot com ReportedBy: hunt at redhat dot com http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2427 ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 3+ messages in thread

If an embedded-C function includes this string in its body: /* pure */ then the translator will consider eliding them if their results are unused. -- What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |ASSIGNED Last reconfirmed|0000-00-00 00:00:00 |2006-04-24 20:09:51 date| | http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2427 ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 3+ messages in thread
