Currently, most of our probe handlers run with preemption/interrupts off,
since this avoids reentrancy that is not well handled on some platforms.
We should consider offering an option to skip the interrupt-disabling
parts of the probe handlers. We would have to rely on proper reentrancy
preventection (and consequent skipped-probe counting) to work correctly.
But in exchange, system performance and responsivity should improve.
Perhaps the translator can make this decision automatically, based
upon analysis of the entire script.

We no longer disable interrupts for our probe handlers, just preemption.
