Subject: [Bug dyninst/15540] New: stapdyn wants emulated probe timer.profile support
Date: Mon, 27 May 2013 14:38:00 -0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-15540-6586@http.sourceware.org/bugzilla/> (raw)
http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=15540
Bug ID: 15540
Summary: stapdyn wants emulated probe timer.profile support
Product: systemtap
Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: dyninst
Assignee: systemtap at sourceware dot org
Reporter: smakarov at redhat dot com
(related to PR14701)
It would be logical and nice to support timer.profile probes under the dyninst
runtime. This requires investigation as to whether Dyninst has some kind of
feature that allows triggering our handler at regular intervals proportionally
to system tick, or whether we have to jury-rig the emulation in our own
runtime.
