Eigler --- Would it be fair to summarize the prior comment by saying that these test c= ases deliberately eat CPU in order to test performance statistics of those optimizations. So the "soft lockup" is only an indication of the test runn= ing a long time, not any sort of deep problem. One could for example reduce the loop iterations by a factor or two on slower machines.
