Subject: [Bug runtime/30599] New: Stap probe does not terminate on Kernel Version 6.3
Date: Fri, 30 Jun 2023 20:41:46 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-30599-6586@http.sourceware.org/bugzilla/> (raw)

https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=30599

            Bug ID: 30599
Summary: Stap probe does not terminate on Kernel Version 6.3
           Product: systemtap
           Version: unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: runtime
Assignee: systemtap at sourceware dot org
Reporter: halamour at redhat dot com
  Target Milestone: ---

When using fedora kernel version 6.3.6-200.fc38.x86_64, running any SystemTap
script with IO will not terminate after Pass 5: starting run unless forced to.

e.g.
probe begin
{ print ("hello world\n")
exit () }

Upon downgrading to 6.2.15-300.fc38.x86_64 problem does not appear.
Possibly related to stapio.
