I think so. The Trident ones don't look like they'd work at low magnification. If you post a diff, then I can actually try it in xconq, rather than just look at images/trident.gif and try to guess what it would look like in a game. I also don't see units there for all the unit types found in the standard game, and of course it wouldn't look good at all to mix and match. I will note that this could be made a variant (see the existing silhouettes variant for an example).
