Dear Eric, Matthew, Lincoln, and Xconq Mailing Listers,

I'm encouraged by the your pointers on how to do this:

Eric: Excellent guide information regarding terrain and pointers to
documentation

Lincoln: Sensible ways to integrate terrain information. Not afraid to
suggest writing new modules to handle new terrain features

Matthew: Put the rubber to the road. Posted scripts and documentation
to the Wiki.

This is a lot to learn. I will be buried in the Xconq documentation
(thanks Eric) for the next few days. I hope to have at least a few hexes
of map, even if they only serve no other purpose than to show some alpha
code. I make no guarantees.

If I see something that I think you might find significant I will post
to the mailing list. Meanwhile, check in every so often with the web
page and the Wiki. You'll know what I'm up to by that.

If you see anything you think is helpful, by all means please do write.

Unless I get stuck I will try to focus on having a satellite overlay of
Antarctica like I promised Matt.

Hey Cooper, I'd like to echo Eric's request for a
website revamp. It'd be especially good if you could
include some forums. I know, I know, forums cause
certain people to break out in a particularly virulent
strain of hives, but many people (Especially end
users!!) love them, and I think they'd be good for
XConq.

Keep up the good work.

Elijah

I will. I let Eric know that would be happy to do this. I will. There's
so much work and effort into Xconq -- it's just incredible when you
think about it. Let's do the website and the GIS thing, then Slashdot
it, okay? :)

I'll implement the forums code for use if you'd like. I can write a
script that automatically places forum entries in the mailing list.
Would that solve things?

Thank you, and you too!

I don't want to put a damper on things, but we should probably first
find out what the 'sources.redhat.com' policy on PHP scripts or other
server-side executables is.

Eric

P.S. Unless the intent is to find a new home for the Xconq project.

We should keep the two seperate and let the end users
reference the particular forum posting or mailing list
entry. That way we don't step on anybody's toes.
Actually, it'd probably be good to make one of the
forums a read-only 'Mailing List' forum, so that users
who prefer the forums can browse it from there.
