At first glance, your patch looks good.
Ripping out the X signal handlers is something that has been on
my todo list for a long while. I think I had a discussion with
Hans about this maybe 10 or 11 months ago, after I had migrated
things out of the 'win' directory.
If someone doesn't beat me to it, I will apply and test the patch
tonight.
