The specific error is:
configure: error: add-on linuxthreads has no configure fragment or 
sysdeps tree

What does this (rather cryptic) error message mean?

I've attached my configuration and the tail of my build.log

It means that the LinuxThreads add-on has been dead for the past 10
years or so, at which point NPTL has prevailed with the advent of the
linux 2.6 kernel.

Don't use LinuxThreads, use NPTL.
