I've made a new version of 'grep' available for download. This updates
the package to the latest version available from ftp.gnu.org.

The previous (inexplicably unannounced) 2.5.1a-1 release did not allow
"grep -P". This version corrects that mistake.

For a brief description of this package, and a listing of the files that
it contains, see http://cygwin.com/packages/ .

To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on
the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your
system. Then, run setup and answer all of the questions.

If you have questions or comments, please send them to the Cygwin
mailing list at: cygwin@cygwin.com .

This is a refresh from GNU sources + Corinna's patch mentioned here:

I've made a new version of 'grep' available for download. This updates
the package to the latest version available from ftp.gnu.org.

Grep searches through textual input for lines which contain a match to a
specified pattern and then prints the matching lines. GNU's grep
utilities include grep, egrep, and fgrep.

Grep is available in the "Base" category. Unless unselected, it is
installed automatically via setup-*.exe.
