GNU Unifont is a Unicode font collection with glyphs for all
visible Unicode Basic Multilingual Plane (the first 64K)
character code points and many more, with supporting utilities
to view, define, modify, and convert fonts.

- Added almost 600 CJK ideographs, including:
  - The entire CJK Unified Ideographs Extension D range of 222 glyphs
  - 335 commonly used Cantonese ideographs in Plane 2 and Plane 3.
  - Several updates to CJK Unified Ideographs Extension I.
- All Hangul glyphs now have a consistent look with the Hangul
  Syllables, with new glyphs for:
  - U+1100..U+11FF Hangul Jamo
  - U+3130..U+318F Hangul Compatibility Jamo
  - U+A960..U+A97F Hangul Jamo Extended-A
  - U+D7B0..U+D7FF Hangul Jamo Extended-B.
- Several other glyph modifications:
  - Some Letterlike Symbols between U+210A..U+2134 redrawn
  - Some Miscellaneous Symbols musical notation glyphs between
    U+266D..U+26BC, and U+013D LATIN CAPITAL LETTER L WITH CARON redrawn
  - UCSUR https://www.kreativekorp.com/ucsur/ Sitelen Pona modified: 
    - U+F1992..U+F199B changed to be combining glyphs
    - U+F1995..U+F199B nonprinting code points modified
    - Added U+F199C SITELEN PONA MIDDLE DOT and U+F199D SITELEN PONA
      COLON.

NOTE 

Releases from 15.1 do not include Truetype format, only Opentype format
Unifont fonts, as previously announced.
As these fonts are bitmap glyphs rendered into modern font formats,
both formats should render the same glyphs.
All modern systems support both Opentype and Truetype format fonts,
so there should be few or no issues if releases provide only Opentype
format Unifont, which are less than half the file size of the Truetype
format.
A known issue with TrueType is Pango combining character rendering not
being fixed as the Pango maintainers want to support only OpenType.
If anyone encounters issues using the Opentype format Unifont,
please let us know so we can address any issues.
