Subject: On malingering
Date: Thu, 10 Mar 2016 03:33:00 -0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <Pine.BSF.4.63.1603091926550.36942@m0.truegem.net> (raw)
My coinage: malingering: mal- (something bad) + lingering (something
hanging around)
Dictionary: malingering: to pretend illness, especially in order to shirk
one's duty, avoid work, etc.
Moral of this story: When coining a new word, make sure it doesn't already
exist with another meaning. Sheesh.
