Without the "&", there is an extra bash process running: I want just to 
start XWin...

I have copy/pasted it, but it doesn't work (I have also tried with us-ascii)

If I add the debug options you suggested, I got

opt_loglevel: 9
opt_nogui   : 0
opt_notty   : 1
opt_timeout : 0.50
opt_wait    : 0
opt_force   : auto
