Hi all,
I am trying to run XWindows under Cygwin and seem to be having some
problems.
I have down loaded the following:
ftp://ftp.franken.de/pub/win32/develop/gnuwin32/cygwin/packages/X11R6.4/B20_X11R6_4.tar.gz
ftp://ftp.franken.de/pub/win32/develop/gnuwin32/cygwin/porters/Hirmke_Michael/B20/
ncurses-4.2-cygwin-b20-bin.tar.gz
ftp://ftp.franken.de/pub/win32/develop/gnuwin32/cygwin/porters/Hirmke_Michael/B20/
vim-5.3-cygwin-b20-builtin-term-bin.tar.gz
I am able to start an xterm ok, however when I run vim, it hangs and I
have to kill the xterm to recover. Also I am unable to run the gui
version of vim at all, an error message says it was built with out the
gui.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on this, if anyone needs
additional info please ask.

run the configure --help and you should see an option for building the gui
part of vim. Depending on the version, there are various options, eg.
gtk/motif/athena, etc.
