Hi I'm new to the list. ?The cygwin downloaded from latest/* can't
recongize blackslash as a continue character. ?"make" complains it can't
work out rules with a trailing blackslash generated with configure. ?So I
get the source of "make" but it can't compile even with build.sh because
gcc can't recongize "\" in filedef.h
Any clue other than removing those "\" manually ?

and you *just* missed the solution to your problem. Archives at
http://www.delorie.com/archives/ but the quick answer is that you
should try the 2000-05-24 snapshot, which will hopefully be the basis
for the next release.
