There is substantial overlap between ksh and bash. You might want to use
bash in Cygwin the same way you were using ksh elsewhere.
I have seen mention of pdksh on the list, but I don't recall if anyone has
offered a binary of the module.

I use zshell on cygwin (and on Linux and Solaris) which has a ksh emulation
mode that is pretty good. Zshell mode is much more powerful than ksh mode.
