Since mintty 0.4.0.

It's because the cursor placement is disabled on the alternate screen
and in application cursor key mode, both of which are enabled by
Screen. These are taken as signs that something other than a simple
command line program is running, where the feature might be exposed as
the cursor key press inserting hack that it is.
