I've given up on trying to build sources and just installed the RPMs for DocBook from the source.redhat.com docware site.  I've made sure to get tetex and dialog and all it's depeancy's happy in RPM land.

However, I'm having problems.  docbook2html works fine, however docbook2pdf or docbook2ps is causing problems.  Here's a snippet of the log:
