I'm new to eCos and to the SH3. I am trying to use the existing eCos
platform for the 77x9SE01 to create a platform for the 7729RSE01. The 7729R
runs at a faster speed than the 7709/7729, but the boards are otherwise
identical. I compared the source code for the Hitachi-supplied ROM monitors
for both boards, and just found these differences: the setting in one of the
wait state registers, a WDT setup register setting and the frequency control
register setting.

I created a new eCos platform (using eCos 2.0 on Linux) with these changes
and was able to build and download a RedBoot image in Motorola-S format
sucessfully, but I can't get Redboot to work (no boot-up message broadcast
out the serial SCIF port on reset). Any ideas about what I may have missed?
Thanks in advance for any insights.

Not off-hand apart from obviously questioning whether there isn't really
some other difference ;-). If you've got LEDs on your board you can
toggle, you could try and use those to see how far through the startup it
gets.
