Hi,my target is powerpc;when I compile hello.c,the result is right.But when I compile smtp.c,a application realizing SMTP,error occurs,
the output is:
powerpc-eabi-gcc -msoft-float -mcpu=860
-nostartfiles -L/e/ecos_work1/ecos_install/lib -Wl,--gc-sections -o smtp smtp.o
-Ttarget.ld -nostdlib
/tools/H-i686-pc-cygwin/lib/gcc-lib/powerpc-eabi/2.95.2/../../../../powerpc-eabi/bin/ld:
warning: no memory region specified for section `.sdata'
/tools/H-i686-pc-cygwin/lib/gcc-lib/powerpc-eabi/2.95.2/../../../../powerpc-eabi/bin/ld:
section .sdata [00010000 -> 0001000b] overlaps section .text [00010000 -> 00047b67]
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [smtp] Error 1
If I add the line followed in the target.ld:
.sdata ALIGN (0x8) : { *(.sdata*) } > ram ,
the result is right.But I find in the target.ld the section of data includes the input of section of sdata.
What's the meaning of section of sdata and why need it?
Thanks a lot!
