Dear all:
i'm trying to install Configuration Tool following tips from
ecoscentric, but when I were runing "$HOME/cvs/ecos/host/configure
--prefix=$HOME/ecos-tools" to build host infrastructure, I got errors
as "unable to locate Tcl header file tcl.h" and "failed for libcdl".
Does this mean I need to update some library file or something ?
Thanks
Yibin

Do you want to change the confgurtion tool itself, or the information
it shows?
Adding a new scheduler does not require a change to the configtool
itself. What you need to do it modify the kernel cdl file. This file
is used by the configtool to display the different options.
I suggest you read the Componets Writers Guide documentation which you
can find under Documentation on ecos.sourceware.org

How so? What do you want to change in the config tool?

These sort of changes happen when you change the CDL.

Indeed you are right. After much searching this appears to be an issue with certain versions of gcc. I thought that the configuration tool was using the last sh-elf-gcc as configured in the build path. However, my environment had a different version of gcc in the path. I had been using sh-elf-gcc supplied for the sh by KPIT. AS soon as I removed this from my environment PATH, everything kicked into life. I made the assumption that the configuration tool would use the path supplied, but it appears that the system environment can override this.
Many thanks for your help.

Many Thanks, seem to have sorted it now.
have another question, when I attempt to build the library, I get the following error.
make[1]: Entering directory `/ecos-c/PROGRA~1/REDHAT~1/ECOSCO~1/pc388_build/services/cpuload/v2_0b1'
sh-elf-gcc.exe: cannot specify -o with -c or -S and multiple compilations
make[1]: Nothing to be done for `headers'.
make[1]: *** [/ecos-c/PROGRA~1/REDHAT~1/ECOSCO~1/pc388_install/include/cyg/hal/sh_offsets.inc] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/ecos-c/PROGRA~1/REDHAT~1/ECOSCO~1/pc388_build/services/cpuload/v2_0b1'
make: *** [build] Error 2
headers finished
I can't see where the -o -c or -S flags are specified.
My global compiler flags are :
-mb -m2 -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wstrict-prototypes -Winline -Wundef -Woverloaded-virtual -ggdb -O2 -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections -fno-rtti -fno-exceptions -fvtable-gc -finit-priority
and my global linker flags are:
-mb -m2 -ggdb -nostdlib -Wl,--gc-sections -Wl,-static
Any ideas?

I am performing a port for a hardware target using the SH7145 chip. When I create a template in the configuration tool for my target platform, resolve conflict dialog appears as follows:
Item: CYGPKG_HAL_SH_SH7145_PC388 requires CYGPKG_HAL_SH_7145
I have palced CYGPKG_HAL_SH_7145 in the target in the ecos.db as follows, any ideas what I have missed out.
package CYGPKG_HAL_SH_SH7145_PC388 {
alias { "Quartz PC388 (sh7145)Board board" hal_sh_pc388 sh_pc388_hal }
directory hal/sh/pc388
script hal_sh_sh7145_pc388.cdl
hardware
description "
This SH HAL package provides the support needed to run
eCos on a Quartz PC388 board."
}
target pc388 {
alias { "Quartz PC388 (7145)" pc388 }
packages { CYGPKG_HAL_SH
CYGPKG_HAL_SH_SH2
CYGPKG_HAL_SH_SH7145_PC388
CYGPKG_HAL_SH_7145
CYGPKG_IO_SERIAL_SH_SCI
}
description "
The PC388 target provides the packages needed to run
eCos on a Quartz PC388 (7145 based) board."
}
Any help would be greatfully received.
