Hi NavEcos

Thanx a lot for ur response.
I was able to solve the problem. ( and I did not have to use an 
oscilloscope . ha ha)

Out of curiosity - what was the the problem?

Don't be embarassed if it was obvious, I once spent 3 days debugging a board 
because I forgot to replace a jumper after I programmed the EEPROM.
