Hello:
Here's Apache error log snip. Looks like the reference guide (usb) refers to
nonexistent images directory:
File does not exist: /work/www/html/cvsdoc/images, referer:
http://www.ecos2.vsr.si/cvsdoc/ref/usbs-testing.html
BTW:-) the directory doc/sgml/images never existed nor was generated during
the doc build process in the eCos tree.

Solved, it's jade expecting it's default stylesheet images directory to be
located somewhere at .. (why?) in the server path.
