Hello,
I am Electonic Engineer and Dr. in IT and currently I am searching
for a Microcontroller to bild a new Solar-Charger. My current
choice is the NXP/Phillips LH7A404 which is based on the ARM922T.
Q: Is this CPU supported by eCos?
Note 1: Currently I am eating the ARM922T Specification
and User/Developer guides. :-)
The Microcontroller should track the "incoming" Sun-energie, outgoing
V and A, GPS, have USB as host AND periperial (which mean, you can put
in a USB-Key to save the logs or use the NVRAM of the Microcontroller
as Massstorage which can be accessed form a service Laptop) also it
should have Wifi 802.11a since the PV-stations communicate together.
If you have idees for a better CPU,please let me know.
Note 2: I have the Dallas Semiconductor DS80C411 but there is a problem
with an IDE or at least environement for devel sinc PythonMQ is
death and SDCC is crashing all the time.
Note 3: I am working under Debian GNU/Linux 4.0
Thanks, Greetings and nice Day

Given those set of requirements, maybe eCos is not the best OS for
you. There are no Wifi drivers, no USB host, no GPS infrastructure.
Do you need strong real time requirements? If not, maybe Linux is a
better solution for you.
