Hi there,
As Andrew mentioned there is great documentation on the eCos site. You
might also find it helpful to get the book "Embedded Software Development
with eCos." This covers setting up a basic build environment and building
and example application for the i386 target.
I have tested the example that comes with the book and it worked right off
the CD-ROM. Chapter 11 details the steps necessary to setup the eCos build
tools and Chapter 12 goes through an example of building RedBoot and an
eCos application for the i386.
