cygmon is a ROM monitor with a command line and various debugging features.
It is being replaced by RedBoot.
A GDB stub is just a simple piece of code you normally put into ROM to
allow your program to be loaded and debugged by GDB.
cygmon (and RedBoot) contain GDB stubs within them.
