I'm trying to find a low-cost SoC to use with eCos. I know ColdFire (MCF5223x) has Ethernet support, as does IXP425 and NIOS-II. What about the others? Atmel AT91SAM's? NXP LPC's with Ethernet? Samsung? Thanks! What about the others? Atmel AT91SAM's? NXP LPC's with Ethernet? Samsung? The Ethernet on the AT91SAM7 family should work. It has been tested on the AT91SAM7X, and Atmel re-uses its cores in compatible ways, so i expect it should work on any AT91SAM devices. There are some newer family members (e.g. '4530) that have very minor differences in the Ethernet controller that might require trivial adjustments to the driver. IIRC, some of the low end consumer router/firewalls use the 4510 or the 4530 and could be used as dirt-cheap eval platforms. -- Grant Edwards grante Yow! Did I say I was at a sardine?
