Hello alltogether,

I have to problems regarding RedBoot for i386 vmware:

1. I chose the i386 vmware/redboot template and pressed F7 to build
the library - the libraries are built but the binary redboot image is
not built anymore, although the option CYGBLD_BUILD_REDBOOT_BIN is set
and startup type is set to "FLOPPY".

2. I still had an older reboot-image for the i386 vmware target (GDB
stubs via the serial line) but VMWare 5.5 is not booting this image
anymore - it stops with an error message beginning with
"vcpu-0:NOT_IMPLEMENTED devices/vide/vide.c:3172 ...".

Has anybody come across these problems so far, too? Thanks in advance.

Ciao, Fabian

First of all: do not hijack threads!

> I would like to ask you that does ecos support an emulator ?

yes, the i386 vmware target runs on most standard pcs, vmware (nomen
est omen), bochs, ....

I recommend you to use the version from anoncvs - have a look at the
ecos-Homepage for more information on cvs accesss

e.g. building ecos using startup type "FLOPPY", create the library,
link your application against it, create a floppy image and boot the
image with the emulator of your choice. This works for i386, but
that's apparently what you are looking for
