Firstly, this question is somewhat off-topic for this list.

But anyway, the answer is that it is target dependent and normally dictated
by the chip vendor. So you probably need to visit the website of the chip
vendor and get the processor user manual from there.

James,

If you mean "inline asm", you may look at the gcc info documents. The node
"Extended Asm" describes the general format and it contains a cross-reference to
the node about operand constraints.
