In the releases you have directories named 'v1_2_1', but in your
cvs repository the are named 'current'.  What, except for the directory
names
do I have to change to make it build using 'current'?

You should not need to do anything at all.  We maintain the sources
as "current" (the CVS mainline that you can check out).  This directory
level is renamed, mostly for our convenience and documentation purposes,
when we make an official release.
