May I suggest to rewrite the first sentence as:
On POWER systems which support it, the
<code>-mabi=ieeelongdouble</code> option is now available to use the
IEEE 128-bit floating point format for <code>REAL(KIND=16)</code>
types.
OK in any case. Anything is better than nothing.
