Subject: Re: [3.4 regression] -finline emits incorrect jmp instructions

This regression appears to be related to this change:

2003-05-13  Jason Merrill  <jason@redhat.com>

        * typeck.c (build_modify_expr): Don't always stabilize the lhs and
        rhs. Do stabilize the lhs of a MODIFY_EXPR used on the lhs.

If i back out that change, then the problem goes away,
at least for the small test case i have.
sss

The mainline (20030803) produces the same code as 3.3 did on the reduced testcase,
so this is fixed.
I do not know how there could be a testcase that could go into gcc's testsuite though.

3.3.1-5)" from one of the recent Red Hat Beta releases on i386?

It seems I am getting something very simialr to the original
